EDUCATION THAT MAKES THE FUTURE POSSIBLE

Dear members, friends, and supporters,

Imagine if your life’s path were predetermined from the very beginning—not by your dreams, but by your background. For many children and young people in South Africa, this is the bitter reality. Overcrowded classrooms, a lack of individualized support, and alarmingly high youth unemployment often rob them of their prospects at an early age.

But this is exactly where our shared story of change begins.

We don’t look away—we take action. With deep passion, we open up real opportunities for young people from socially disadvantaged families: through high-quality schooling, practical vocational training, and personalized support that builds courage and strength.

Because education is far more than lessons and exams. Education is the key to a self-determined life. It means dignity. It gives hope. And it can change an entire life.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts

None of this would be possible without your support. You give young people prospects, courage, and a real chance at a self-determined life.

Let’s give the gift of a future together.

A STRONG FIRST QUARTER OF 2026 – AND STORIES THAT TOUCH THE HEART.

What a start to the new year! Our young people have kicked off 2026 with impressive energy and genuine determination—whether at university, in primary or high school, at the Hospitality College in Stellenbosch, in training at Imibala, or in the middle of their three-year apprenticeship at CSV Construction.

And we were able to see it for ourselves: The Board was on site, met many of the young people in person—and returned deeply moved. So much dedication, so much discipline, such clear plans for the future. A generation is growing up here that wants to make a difference.

The personal stories of our students are particularly touching:

Leila talks about her fresh start at a new school—and about a feeling you wish for every child:
“I’m really proud to be part of my new school. The year has started off very well, and I’m looking forward to everything that’s still to come.”

Georgia, who is studying Education and Environmental Science, shares about her volunteer work at a nursing home—and how deeply this experience has shaped her:
“This experience has further strengthened my motivation to learn. It reminds me why I’m so committed to my education.”

And Ashlin, a budding chef in Stellenbosch, sums it up with heartfelt gratitude:
“Every day I learn something new and gain more self-confidence. Your support gives me the chance to turn my passion into a career.”

These are not isolated cases. These are voices of a future that is taking shape right now.

Every single contribution counts—and changes lives.

EXPERIENCING AND CELEBRATING TOGETHER – A GENERAL MEETING WITH A SPECIAL FLAVOR.

Our General Assembly on March 5, 2026, at the Imibala Café in Somerset West was far more than a formal event—it became a vibrant experience full of encounters, exchange, and warmth.

After the official proceedings, a very special highlight awaited us: our students and their instructors treated us to culinary delights of the highest caliber. With palpable pride, great skill, and genuine passion, they demonstrated what they have already learned—and turned the evening into a striking example of how training and practice seamlessly intertwine at our organization.

Thus, a gathering turned into a shared celebration of progress—and a delightful glimpse of what is possible through commitment, support, and trust.

COMMITMENT THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE – WHEN CLOTHING BECOMES OPPORTUNITY.

Sometimes it’s the small ideas that set big things in motion. This was the case again: with incredible dedication and a lot of heart and soul, Ines Giese once more organized a clothing swap—and in doing so, created far more than just a place to browse.

Among lovingly arranged racks of clothing, donated, well-preserved, and new items found a second home—at low prices, but with a big impact.

Because the proceeds go directly where they are urgently needed: to the kindergarten in Sir Lowry’s Pass Village. Specifically, they will be used to purchase educational toys that open up new worlds for the children through play.

A beautiful, tangible example of how seemingly small contributions create real opportunities—and how commitment touches hearts.
